Pommes Reunion

    After a lengthy hiatus, the Pomme Pomme girls reunited to celebrate head Pomme Norma's birthday at Cheddar's on Oct. 1. St. Joseph cheerleader Lori headed the reunion committee. Many of the "Slibowski Pep Squad" attended, bringing junior and prospective members with them.
      The Slibowski Squad attending were (in birth order) Julie, Tommy ,Danny, Lori, Becky,and Leighanne  Junior members included Maddie (daughter of Slibowski Squad member Leighanne) and Trevor (son of Slibowski Squad member Lori).
      Among the prospective members of the Slibowski crew were Chelsey (soon to be daughter-in-law of St. Jo Cheerleader Lori), and Sally (friend of Pomme Norma's son Dan).Informally inducted into the Pep Squad was cheerleader Lori's husband Bill.
     

 

       During the meeting, Head Pomme Norma reprimanded Pommes DJ and Dot for being "Baaaaad sisters." Since a good Pomme acknowledges her shortcomings, Dot and DJ agreed they had been bad and then ordered another wine because they felt bad for being bad.

The Pommes celebrate Chri/august

The Pomme Pomme Girls love their special holidays. This year they celebrated Chri/august.
Ice, snow and zero temperatures last winter prevented the Pommes from getting together to open Christmas presents in December and January and February and March. Then the Head Pomme, Norma, got a bit sickly in the spring. So, the PP Girls waited for warm weather. In fact, they waited a little too long. The 100+ degree July temperatures kept them from venturing outside until the weather cooled off. In August, Pomme DJ was beginning to enjoy the 70s (that's years, not degrees)so the three met at 54th Street for lunch the day after her birthday.

The Head Pomme wondered why the other two Pommes insisted on going to54th Street to eat. But when she opened her presents after the server took their orders, she learned that Santa Barney had given each Girl a 54th Street gift certificate for Christmas. Unfortunately, the 70s Girl forgot to bring hers. Oh, well. Fa-la-la-la-la.

Birthday and birthday and birthday

The Pommes chose Olive Garden to celebrate Norma's birthday (October 1) and Dorothy's birthday (September 9) and DJ's birthday (August 11). Two of the Pommes went to Chedder's first. *D is for Ditz*

The PP Girls ordered Italian Margaritas and raspberry ice tea for starters but delayed entree decisions to open presents. Dot and DJ surprised each other with Hallmark Christmas ornaments. Norma received a cute Santa and a fancy photo frame.

Chicken Alfredo was the flavor of the day with the Ditzies ordering Chicken Alfredo pizza and the Head Pomme choosing Chicken Alfredo pasta. Dot passed on dessert but had her spoon out for the first bite when Norma and DJ's chocolate mousse cheesecake *yum* arrived at the table.

Friday Gras

The Pomme Pomme Girls observed Friday Gras this year with chocolate cake and Christmas presents. Locating our senior Pomme took a while. After phone messages left on Big Sis's cell phone went unanswered for several days, the Ditzy Ds (Dot and DJ) finally thought to call where she lives now.
Although neither of the Ditzses had written down the address, the two of them managed to find the right house this time. They arrived a bit earlier than expected and before the senior Pomme had changed out of her pjs and into her uniform.
Note that Friday Gras falls on the twelfth day of .....February. No partridges or pear trees. Maybe some sparrows though.

Happy Birthday to Norma

Norma is the senior member of the Pomme Pomme Girls. A Libra, she loves to socialize, especially with the other Pommes. She also likes little kids, her cats and anything chocolate. The Pommes celebrated Norma's birthday at Cheddars this year. View highlights here:

The Pommes cheered Dot's return to the Midwest with a birthday celebration at 54th Street (Pomme Central). Unfortunately, none of the girls remembered to present their cards to be stamped for credit toward a freebie. *senior moment* No! The margaritas had nothing to do with the memory lapse!
